Third suspect in Toone double homicide appears in court

HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn. — A third person accused in the shooting deaths of a father and his 13-year-old son in Toone faced a judge Tuesday after being extradited from Mississippi.

Demein Hamer courtDamein Hamer was officially charged Tuesday in Hardeman County as family of the victims looked on, making for an emotional hearing.

Family of the victims clapped when the judge said Hamer’s bond was denied.

Hamer is one of three suspects in the death of 38-year-old Joe Robertson and 13-year-old Javarrie Robertson, who were found shot to death in their home on Oct. 21.

Damein Hamer and his cousin, Jeremy Hamer, who is a co-defendant, are expected back in court on Nov. 15.

Andrian Bullock is also facing murder charges in the case.

No possible motive has been released.
