Officer of the Year award presented to JPD sergeant

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Exchange Club of Jackson honored A local JPD sergeant with the Officer of The Year award today, April 2.

Sergeant Stewart Cepparulo, with the Jackson Police Department, was honored with Officer of the Year award.

He shared this moment surrounded by friends and family.

“It’s a big honor I’m really appreciative of this to be recognized by the Jackson Exchange Club and the people I work with and work for,” said Cepparulo.

He has known this news for almost a week now, but is still stunned by this accomplishment.

“Its really cool, I’m not much on self recognition, it’s nice to be recognized for hard work,” said Cepparulo.

Growing up, he was able to look up to his dad and uncle who both served in the Jackson Police Department.

“Its cool looking back when I was my kids age and looking at what my dad and my uncle were doing and then I’m doing the same thing now,” said Cepparulo.

This job has had its moments, however, he said that this has always been his dream job.

“Its difficult, but I love it, I wouldn’t do anything else. This is the greatest job in the world,” said Cepparulo.

He says that there wasn’t a single moment that led to this award expect for showing up for the Hub City.

“I think it’s just hard work and dedication to the city of Jackson,” said Cepparulo.

Towards the end of the ceremony, coworkers of Cepparulo were able to share kind words about his hard work.
