UT Martin’s Captains Challenge raises nearly 400 thousand dollars
MARTIN, Tenn. — A local university’s largest fundraiser was held today, on April 3.
The University of Tennessee at Martin held their 10th annual Captains Challenge.
Named after the school’s mascot captain, Skyhawk, this fundraiser asks the community to donate to various programs in the school such as the nursing program, athletics, the Paul Meek Library, and more.
The school set a goal of 1,200 donors and now sits at 1,267 donors in total.
“All gifts can be matched dollar for dollar up to three hundred dollars, so if someone makes a 300 dollars gift to the Paul Meek Library that gift becomes a six hundred dollar gift,” said Matt Borden, Associate Director of Annual Giving at UTM.
So far, they have raised over three hundred and eighty nine thousand dollars.
