Suspect at large after 1 injured in evening shooting

PARIS, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left one injured.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, officers were at 3030 Highway 79 North late Wednesday evening to serve an arrest warrant when they noticed broken glass on the back door of the home.

The Sheriff’s Office says officers made contact with the residents, who stated two black males had knocked on the door of the home.

According to authorities, the victim opened the door and the suspect asked if a male was home, and the victim advised the individual did not live at that address and closed the door.

The victim was transported to the Henry County Medical Center where he was treated and released.

The Sheriff’s Office says it’s  believed that the shooting occurred just minutes before the patrol officers arrived at the home.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident.
