GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday morning in Milan.
Crews were called to the home around 9 a.m. on Hawthorne Street. No one was home during the fire and no one was hurt.
Officials say when they arrived there was a lot of dark smoke visible. Firefighters fought the flames for around an hour and a half before they were able to get the flames under control.
Officials say the cause of the fire is unknown at this point.
“At this time it’s under investigation,” Milan Fire Department Assistant Chief Michael Estes said. “We don’t have any suspicions right now.”
