TDOT employees train on snow plow simulator for winter season ahead
JACKSON, Tenn.-It might not feel like winter just yet, but that has not stopped the Tennessee Department of Transportation from preparing.
This week, employees have the opportunity to drive a snow plow simulator to help prepare them for when the real winter weather hits.
The simulation takes drivers through different courses and obstacles.
Instructors can then provide feedback on what they can work on.
“It really gives them a head start to make sure they are looking for and doing the correct things when they are out clearing the snow from the roadways,” said Nichole Lawrence, a spokesperson for TDOT.
The training session also talked about driver fatigue, low visibility and will be available to drivers for another week.
