Tenn. Division of Forestry stops issuing outdoor burn permits until conditions improve
JACKSON, Tenn. — Dry weather conditions have caused a state agency to stop issuing outdoor burn permits until conditions improve.
As of Friday afternoon, the Tennessee Division of Forestry will no longer issue outdoor burn permits in any part of the state until weather conditions improve, according to the West Tennessee District of the Department of Agriculture.
This in not to be confused with a general burn ban, which requires a declaration from the governor and prevents all outdoor burning, according to an email from the department.
The state has issued burn bans in four East Tennessee counties.
