Scattered Clouds During The Eclipse, Most Will Have A Good View

Monday Forecast

Most of the rain moves out in the morning as a slow moving front moves a little further south taking the rain with it. Scattered areas of clouds will be in the area around the time of the Eclipse in the afternoon, but most areas will get to see the event in between the clouds. Much like 2017, the event will be observed with scattered clouds.

The event will get underway around 12:40 and peak around 2 PM.

The further north you live, the better chances should be for good viewing. We’ll see a much dimmer sky in and around the 2 PM hour. I do want to point out that there will be a big difference still between the 97% and the 100% areas. At 100%, the sky above turns as dark as night and you can see stars above. In west Tennessee, the sky will get dimmer and some of the effects will be felt such as a slight drop in temperature and a drop in the breezes.

If you live further east and are not able to get closer to the event, we’ll be streaming it live right here on our website starting at 1 PM.

2

The temperature will drop slightly in the peak of the event and you’ll be able to tell that the Eclipse if taking place despite our local area not being in the totality zone. The event will end around 3 pm with the sunshine making a full return.

3

Most of the rain will hold off for the event until later this evening but there will be slight chance of showers around the time of the eclipse. Any showers will be very localized with most areas staying dry.  Showers and storms will become much more numerous as the front drifts back north into the evening and overnight hours.
