First responders hold ‘beyond the badge’ food drive

JACKSON, Tenn.,– First responders held a first of its kind food drive Saturday.

rifa-food.pngThe Madison county fire department and sheriff’s office partnered with the Tennessee highway patrol, Med center EMS and Jackson police department for the beyond the badge food drive.

Donation tables were set up outside both wal-mart stores in Jackson.

All donated foods will be separated into pre-packaged boxes in a storage unit so first responders can give them away to families who need assistance.

Organizers said they hope to start handing out items as early as Monday.
