Jackson’s future leaders graduate from extensive program

JACKSON, Tenn. — Dozens of young leaders graduate from a program with a goal of helping them to aspire to be even more effective leaders.

The Leadership University graduation ceremony was held this evening at Union University.

38 aspiring young leaders have completed the 2023-24 Leadership University Program, a community youth leadership development program of the Greater Jackson Chamber.

The class represents all the public, private and home-schooled juniors in Jackson-Madison County high schools.

“So they’ve had the opportunity to see every sector of the community, whether it’s industry or healthcare or government, they know how the city works,” said Alan Brown, graduate of Leadership University.

“While being at Leadership University, I’ve learned the importance of obviously being a leader but also being inclusive, upholding truth and values because that’s what it takes to be a leader,” said Kaitlyn Ellis , graduate of Leadership University.

Leadership University is a 10-month program to help develop the framework for constructive leadership, community involvement and responsible participation in the future of this community.
