Police investigate woman found in abandoned vehicle

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson police are investigating what eyewitnesses say was a woman found in an abandoned vehicle in a parking lot off of North Royal Street, today, on April 9.

The owner of a neighboring business stated that a vehicle had been parked in an empty parking lot across the street since this past weekend.

They told us they assumed the vehicle was empty until a tow truck came to remove the vehicle and left quickly.

Shortly after the tow truck left, we were told police cars swarmed the seemingly abandoned vehicle.

That’s when police told onlookers that an unresponsive woman was found inside the vehicle.

According to witnesses, police told them they believed the woman could have been having a medical issue that prevented her from leaving the vehicle for several days.

Eyewitnesses say the woman was helped into an ambulance at the scene.

“From my understanding, it was a lady who was found unresponsive and from what they were saying she been in the car since Saturday,” said Shannon Ross, an eyewitness.

Investigators say no further details are available at this time.
