Huntingdon police bust marijuana grow operation across from middle school
HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — A mother and son are facing felony charges after a search leads officers to a marijuana grow operation across the street from Huntingdon Middle School.
Ronnia Deniker, 56, and her son, Wesley Deniker, 25, were arrested Friday after officers found a grow operation along with over a pound of marijuana in a Browning Avenue home, according to a release from Director of Public Safety Walter Smothers.
The residence is across the street from the school, which will enhance the charges to a level D felony, according to the release.
Inside the home, officers reported finding a closet converted to a grow room with a large potted marijuana plant along with a portable grow operation with four smaller marijuana plants.
Along with the marijuana, police found pipes, digital scales, baggies and a bag containing 20 hydrocodone pills.
The mother and son were transported to the Carroll County Jail and are facing charges including manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to resell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ronnia Deniker’s bond was set at $26,000. Wesley Deniker’s bond was set at $31,000.
