First United Methodist Church hosts Medicare informational
JACKSON, Tenn. — Local community members gathered this afternoon to learn more about one insurance plan.
Each second Tuesday of the month, First United Methodist Church has their annual Medicare informational.
“There’s sale pressure whatsoever. There is no obligation it doesn’t cost anything here, come, sit, listen, if you have questions ask them,” said Paul Wyatt, Senior Insurance Advisor for Medicare.
Wyatt, shared that having these meetings is important for those that qualify to have a clear understanding.
“It’s just a lot of confusion that goes on a lot of times when they get to this age or this particular point of their life. They’ll get a lot of information given to them and it’s just a lot of sales pitches from a lot of companies that are aggressive,” said Wyatt.
This session is only an hour long and provides an in-depth lesson.
“So this is really to help kinda help them with this overview of which part of Medicare really is and kind of dive into it a little bit, as much as possible and about an hour session. And just giving them that kind of information and helping them make a decision,” said Wyatt.
Children or family members can attend and learn more information to help family members that may qualify for Medicare.
This meeting is free and attendees do not have to join after the meeting.
“With sales tactics they may end up in a position or in a plan that may not be best suited for them just because they haven’t looked at it and understand what it is really,” said Wyatt.
Meetings are held on the second floor of the First United Methodist Church in Downtown Jackson.
