Ribbon cutting ceremony held for FHU athletic field

HENDERSON, Tenn.—A ribbon cutting ceremony is held at a local university.

This morning a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Rayla Tucker Black Field at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson.

The event was held in recognition of the university’s newest softball field.

The field is located on the south end of the FHU campus and is situated behind the Lloyd Auditorium.

Among those present at the event were university staff,  team members and local residents.

“You know, days like today help us appreciate the fact that we have donors and families that love Freed-Hardeman so much that they help us move forward. The improvement that they have made on this campus directly impacts student and student athletes everyday,” said David Shannon, President of Freed-Hardeman University.

Following the ribbon cutting, fans and guests were welcomed to watch the Lady Lions play against the University of Cumberland’s Patriots in a doubleheader game.
