One Huntingdon church says thank-you to its volunteers
HUNTINGDON, Tenn.—A church says thank you to its local volunteers and surrounding community.
First Presbyterian Church in Huntingdon hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.
The event took place at the Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen in the church at 1 this afternoon. It included a meal, guest speaker Gus Radford who dressed as Mark Twain, and a message from Pastor David Ray Carter.
The Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen has been providing delicious meals in a restaurant-style setting for the past six years, and their efforts depend greatly on the generosity of volunteers.
“This has been an ecumenical effort involving all of the Christian churches in our community and even in Paris, Tennessee. People come in from all over Carroll county to eat with us and the volunteers are from everywhere too,” said David Ray Carter, First Presbyterian Church.
