Mayors unite, April designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month
BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Mayors proclaim April 2024 ‘Sexual Assault Awareness month’ in Camden and Benton county.
The official proclamation was presented at the Benton County Courthouse this morning, April 16.
Big Sandy Mayor John Clement, Camden Mayor Roger Pafford, and Benton County Mayor Mark Ward, have announced that the month of April will be recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Benton County.
“WRAP is our organization, we work with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Providing them with emotional support, court accompaniment, hospital accompaniment. Essentially we are that step in between to help them find the resource that they may need,” said Iman Everton, Regional Sexual Assault Specialist for WRAP.
The mayors say they are humbled by the outstanding work of WRAP.
They also stated how proud they were to officially recognize this important month in within community.
