Local non-profit invests $50,000 into education initiatives

JACKSON, Tenn. — One non-profit is continuing to give back to its community and leaders of the future.

The Leaders Education Foundation held its annual meeting in Jackson tonight, April 16.

The foundation gave away $50,000 dollars.

Of that, $25,000 went to scholarships for incoming college students.

The rest went to different West Tennessee organizations and projects like partnerships with Imagination Library and Wow Wagon.

The two primary ways the Leaders Education Foundation helps the community are Leaders Scholarships and teacher grants.

“Last year we gave away over 35 thousand dollars in teacher grants through classroom grants as well as professional development, as well as teacher appreciation. Our collegiate that we’ve mentioned already. And then we partnered with different organizations who already have educational focus such as west teach, such as the read team. Through the arts program, through the school system,” said the President of The Leaders Education Foundation, Leigh Anne Bentley.

The Leaders Education Foundation is membership based, with a $10-dollar membership fee.

You can also make donations in honor of or in memory of someone.
