United Way of West Tennessee Launches Volunteer West Tennessee Hub
Jackson, Tenn. (Apr. 19, 2024) – United Way of West Tennessee is excited to announce the Volunteer West Tennessee Hub – an online database designed to connect local volunteers with service opportunities in West Tennessee. This platform is accessible to the community at no cost and will serve as the central hub of communication between organizations and volunteers.

Volunteers and any organization (e.g. churches, nonprofits, schools, etc.) in West Tennessee offering service opportunities are invited to register online at VolunteerWestTN.org. Once registered, participants gain access to a network of service-oriented causes and individuals eager to contribute their time and skills.
“Through collaboration with First Lady Maria Lee’s Tennessee Serves initiative and Volunteer Tennessee’s Tennessee Serves Network, the Volunteer West Tennessee Hub provides organizations more efficient ways to connect with enthusiastic volunteers who share their vision,” said Matt Marshall, President/CEO of United Way.
Key benefits of joining Volunteer West Tennessee include increased visibility of service projects and volunteer needs, efficient volunteer recruitment, enhanced community collaboration, and greater access to resources related to volunteerism.
“This volunteer portal will be a central station for accessing volunteer opportunities across the region,” said Pat Ross, Senior Director of 211 and Volunteer Services for United Way of West Tennessee. “It will help people find opportunities that match their interests and skills, and we want to encourage everyone to get involved and make a difference.”
“Volunteer Tennessee is elated that United Way has joined the Tennessee Serves Network,” said Hope Alexander, Volunteer Tennessee’s communications and outreach manager. “Since we launched the Tennessee Serves Network in 2021, over 275,000 volunteer hours have been reported which equates to an $8.75 million investment in Tennessee. By leveraging this network, West Tennessee will benefit from increased volunteer opportunities in 15 West Tennessee counties, and that is something we all should celebrate.”
Registration includes creating an account and attending an onboarding session. Agency Manager training sessions will be available on Mondays at 2-3pm EST with recorded sessions available for those unable to attend.
