Local educators association meets with election candidates
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local education group holds an important forum for school board members and the public this evening, April 23.

The Jackson-Madison County Educators Association hosted a meeting where potential school board candidates were able to convey and present their platforms leading up to the August election.
The meeting was held in the library of North Parkway Middle school.

Leaders with the JMC Educators Association say each candidate was interviewed to share their perspectives, address questions from educators, and articulate their plans for supporting teachers and students in the district.

“Anytime that there is an election and this one in particularly has a board change potential. And we wanted to make sure that we get out and introduce ourselves and voice a little concerns to the board members, potential board member and just feel them out and see if they were still in supportive of out teachers and all of the community as a whole,” said Member of the Executive Board for the JMCEA, Jeff Davis.
Organizers say this meeting also served as an opportunity for candidates to connect with the educators who play a vital role in shaping the educational landscape of our community.
