Civil War battle comes to life
PARKERS CROSSROADS, Tenn. — Cannon’s boomed, hooves stomped, and soldiers marched at this well-known and historic site more than 150 years ago.
One soldier shared with us why it’s so important for West Tennesseans to understand the events and sacrifices that were made in their back yard all those years ago.
“Its important for the people here in West Tennessee and the surrounding area to know who they are and what’s happened here before them. It’s more than driving up and down the street. What happened on that street that your driving up and down? said Dr. E.C. Fields, Jr., or General Ulysses S. Grant.
Anniversary events continue Sunday afternoon with more scheduled performances.
