Masonic lodge makes donation to cancer center

MILAN, Tenn. — A local organization presented a cancer center with a gift that could help thousands of lives.

The Milan Masonic Lodge presented the Alice and Carl Kirkland Center with a $2,000 check.

This check will go to support patient needs at the cancer center such as transportation and funds to pay for medicine for patients.

Past Master, Tim Curry said that four years ago he was diagnosed with cancer in his saliva glands.

Because of the support he received while sick, Curry said he wanted to pay it forward to someone else in need.

He told us how he and his brothers raised the funds to give the check.

“Well, we find hams at the best price we can find them at. Several brothers get together and we smoke the hams and try to pre-sell tickets for them,” said

Curry said these hams are sold around Easter and that they have been giving checks to Kirkland Cancer Center for the past four years.
