Players battle it out at a local pickleball tournament

JACKSON, Tenn.—Players from across West TN hit the courts for a special tournament.

Day two of the Hub City Spring Showdown Pickleball Tournament took place at Conger Park today.

The tournament, sponsored by Knott’s Fine Foods, started on Friday with the men and women singles matches and continued today with the doubles competition.

The tournament was open to new or experienced players and included competitions in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories with awards up for grabs.

Players and spectators at the tournament could also enjoy pickle related foods, including fried pickle dip, and fried dill pickles available from the sponsors.

“Our players are always wanting to do fun and competitive events and are always willing to learn and grow in the sport,” said Julie Wigger, Founder and Creative Director of Hub City Picklers.

The tournament will continue Sunday with mixed doubles play.
