Trenton festival kicks off annual flower show

TRENTON, Tenn. — The Teapot Festival Flower Show took place today, April 30.

Hosted at First Baptist Church, the show’s title was ‘Songs From Our Past.’

Each division was themed around songs like ‘God Bless America’ and ‘Ol’ Man River.’

The Trenton Garden Club has around 20 members and they came together to share flowers and help each other make the arrangements.

Betty Poteet, Vice President of the Trenton Garden Club won best in show.

“I won with a purple iris and I’m so happy about it and when I went out yesterday the storm was coming in and I cut it and one of the irises was not in bloom so I put it under a light last night and this morning it was in wonderful shape,” said Poteet.

Poteet shared that today’s show was a fun time and that she enjoys the consistent community of the garden club.
