Local ballpark is hosting weekly events for the community

JACKSON, Tenn. — With summer right around the corner, one Hub City attraction announces their spring and summer plans.

The Jackson Rockabilly’s announced that their first game of the season will be on May 28.

Until then, there are a some fun plans for you to enjoy.

“So we have the Cowboy Hat Night, we have T-shirt Night, we’re doing Women’s Diamond on the Diamonds Bight. A thousand women are gonna go after and grab half carat diamonds here so every night we do something different,” said Dennis Bastien, President of the Jackson Rockabilly’s Stadium.

Just this week, eight different college baseball teams have began competing in their tournament.

Along with that, the Game of Their Own, a women’s game re-enacting ‘A league of Their Own,’ was announced for June 18.

“We have something pretty much weekly here almost every weekend. We’re doing another Brewfest, the Chili Cook Off here, we’re doing a lot of corporate cook offs here. So we’re doing a field trip for all the schools that participated Rockabilly’s Reading Program,” said Bastien.

This reading program is to encourage children fifth grade and under to read, and to celebrate their progress.

For those wanting to know if there will be another concert, there is hope.

“It’s tough to do during the season because of the field we play at home like every other night on the road so we’re looking at something this fall,” said Bastien.

Their goal is to be involved with the community as much as possible and to have fun with their guest.

“We’re doing a lot of things in between innings of games that will be fun. The Coca Cola Monster Energy 600 every single night– two race cars are gonna zip around the inn field,” said Bastien.
