Local dance school celebrates 30 years of community service

JACKSON, Tenn. — This evening, May 2, the Mona Lisa Lanier School of Dance held an event to celebrate 30 years of service to the dance community in Jackson.

The event titled, ‘Celebrating 30 years: Live to Dance’ was hosted at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.

Secretary and a Board Member for the school, Lisa Lovelace, says she has truly enjoyed working with Ms. Lanier over the years.

“It’s definitely been a joy, she’s been an amazing person. I love working with here. I love helping her in anyway that I can whether it’s calling people or organizing people or whatever she needs, she’s an amazing person,” said Lovelace.

Ms. Lanier also received a special gift at the end of the event.

Lanier’s students, friends and mother all surprised her with a video montage thanking her for service to the community.
