City of Jackson upgrades maintenance equipment

JACKSON, Tenn. — A new machine keeps the Hub City clean.

The City of Jackson recently acquired a new pressure-washing rig.

The machine will help maintain the city’s sidewalks.

During Covid, Jackson’s maintenance department began pressure washing the city.

It was a timely process.

Officials with the City of Jackson began to research how they could do the job more efficiently.

Kirk Smith, Director of Municipal Maintenance with the City of Jackson, says they found ride-on equipment that is much more efficient.

“It has 217 gallon per minute, 2400 psi pumps. Very, very efficient. Has a soft wash system also for taking care of our new pickleball and tennis courts to properly wash those without damaging them,” said Director of Municipal Maintenance with the City of Jackson.

The work completed this morning with the new machine would have taken over a week with the old equipment.
