Hazardous waste collection to be held in Jackson May 18

JACKSON, Tenn. — The City of Jackson’s hazardous waste collection day is on the way.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be held on May 18 from 9 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon at 164 Conalco Drive.

This collection day will include household hazardous waste and oil-based paint collection, electronic waste recycling, document shredding, prescription medication drop-offs.

Cardboard, smoke detector and fire extinguisher recycling will also be available.

“We always welcome volunteers from the community, and so if anybody is interested in volunteering, they’re welcome to call Storm Management, City of Jackson,” said Wendy Braxter-Rhyne, stormwater program manager.

This is a free opportunity for residents to help keep harmful wastes out of landfills and stormwater systems.
