Mehr talked to the small crowd about the new plans for converting West Middle School into a new sheriff’s department location, plans for a new jail and other projects the county is working on.

He also encouraged people to come out to the next meeting.

“They come out and listen and communicate with us, know what you think or what they think, tell us what they would like to see,” Sheriff Mehr said. “They might have ideas, too. Lots of ideas we get are from other citizens.”

The community meetings will resume in January.
