Police say Crime Stoppers tip led to wallet theft suspect

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is charged with stealing someone’s wallet at Wal-Mart after a Crime Stoppers tip led to his arrest.

James Douglas Conway is charged with stealing a wallet containing $700 in August after the owner left it on a bench inside Wal-Mart in south Jackson, according to court papers.

Surveillance video of the theft was shown by Crime Stoppers, and officers received a tip identifying Conway.

Police reportedly compared a driver’s license photo to the video to identify the suspect.

Conway is charged with theft over $500.
