JMC school board members discuss issues at work session
JACKSON, Tenn.- Members of the Jackson-Madison County School Board held a work session Monday night to discuss several items set for
their agenda.
At the meeting, Doctor Verna Ruffin gave an update on possibly adding additional students and classrooms at Thelma Barker Elementary, implementing a new “shape program”, a discipline alternative for kids who are constantly getting into trouble at school as well as what to do with the equipment left at closed school buildings including Beech Bluff Elementary.
“The urgency in Beech Bluff is that Beech Bluff, the board has voted to return it to the county, so we need to really vacate that building,” said Doctor Ruffin.
The school board’s monthly meeting is scheduled for Thursday at the school district’s board room beginning at 6 p.m.
