The 2016 theme was “A Red, White and Blue Strong Christmas.”

“It’s amazing so far,” Johnathon Ates said of his first time enjoying the parade.

Organizers said around 10,000 people attend the parade each year.

Another holiday celebration — the annual Christmas tree lighting — kicked off the night at City Hall.

Parks and recreation staff said the live tree was picked from Madison County and contains more than 1,000 lights.
