Woman charged after I-40 drug bust that yielded 66 lbs. of marijuana

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman is facing a drug possession charge after a Tuesday traffic stop on Interstate 40 led deputies to 66 pounds of marijuana.

Simone Chance was arrested after officers stopped her vehicle on I-40 near mile marker 81 for following too closely, according to the sheriff’s office.

With the help of Timo, the department’s new K-9,  deputies reportedly found 66 pounds of marijuana worth more than $120,000.

They say the marijuana was found in suitcases in the trunk of the car.

Chance’s bond is set at $175,000.
