Joyous Christmas season awaits area children with gift of toys
LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Tenn.-The holiday season is a joyous time, especially for children.
That is why nearly 100 staff members and 40 inmates at the West Tennessee State Penitentiary and the Women’s Therapeutic Residential Center teamed up to ensure that every child in West Tennessee has something under the tree this year.
Thursday, volunteers dropped off loads of toys and goods for the children at the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse in Ripley.
35 children were sponsored and will receive toys just in time for Christmas.
