Humboldt City Schools superintendent contract extended

HUMBOLDT, Tenn.-Members of the Humboldt City School Board vote on the contract of its superintendent.

Members voted four to one to extend the contract of Dr. Versie Hamlett by three years.
Her current contract expires next June 30.

WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News talked to one parent who says she is pleased with the decision.

“It’s going to be a great 3 years. I’m very excited about the growth and where the school system is gonna go and it was the best decision that the board could’ve made,” said Lori Coleman, a parent whose child attends school in the Humboldt City Schools system.

Doctor Hamlett has been superintendent with the school system since 2014.
