Jackson clerk charged with selling beer to underage customer

JACKSON, Tenn. — A convenience store clerk is charged with selling alcohol to an underage customer.

Prameshkumar Patel is accused of selling beer to an underage source who was sent into the store by Metro Narcotics, according to court papers.

Police say Patel asked for ID and the customer showed a driver’s license that showed they were younger than 21.

Patel was unable to provide valid identification to investigators and was taken into custody, according to an affidavit.

He is free on $1,000 bond and is set to return to court at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 9.
