Jackson Symphony on the Move tour prepares for fifth season

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Symphony on the Move tour is set to perform from May 30 to June 15.

Born from the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Jackson Symphony’s Symphony on the Move tour is launching its fifth season on Sunday, May 19 at 6 p.m. in the north Jackson neighborhood of Vann Gardens.

With more than 60 concerts played, Symphony on the Move was awarded the Challenge America Grant in 2023 by the National Endowment for the Arts for expanding live orchestra performances across West Tennessee.

In addition, the League of American Orchestras highlighted Symphony on the Move when testifying before both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, one of only eight organizations in the nation recognized for innovation in expanding orchestral opportunities in their region.

“Come out and see the Jackson Symphony Symphony on the Move. We have a wonderful jazz group that will be performing, so an exciting opportunity and a great way for you and your family to come enjoy some live music this summer,” said Sherry Freeman, Executive Director for the Jackson Symphony.

The fifth annual Symphony on the Move tour dates are as follows:

  1. May 30, Rotary Park in Jackson, at 12 p.m.
  2. May 30, Dynamix in Milan, at 7 p.m.
  3. June 6, Brownsville Amphitheater at 7 p.m.
