Former Lexington coach appears in court on statutory rape charge
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A former football coach at Lexington High School charged with statutory rape made a court appearance Tuesday.
Adam Yates appeared with his attorney, Daniel Taylor.
A judge agreed to waive Yates on to a later court appearance next month.
Court documents say Yates is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old female student in his vehicle while parked at Wal-Mart in Lexington.
