3 suspects accused of killing father, son appear in court
HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn. — It was an emotional day in court Wednesday as three suspected killers faced a judge.
Adrian Bullock and cousins Damein and Jeremy Hamer went before a Hardeman County judge for a preliminary hearing Wednesday in the October double homicide that left Joe Robertson and his 13-year-old son, Javarrie, dead.
“We received a call that two bodies had been discovered in a home and they appeared to be deceased,” said Chief Deputy William Davis with the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department.
The court also heard testimony from agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
“After my walk through, I noticed there was a large amount of blood around both victims,” TBI Agent Michael Parson said.
Agent Parson shared details of surveillance footage that connects Bullock’s car to the case.
“Based on the witness accounts, that vehicle had been spotted in that area, according to the witness on Oct. 18 and then again on Oct. 20, and then the morning of the murders,” Parson said.
Families of the victims and suspects packed the courtroom and heard written statements from Adrian Bullock and Jeremy Hamer.
“When I dropped them off I had a bad feeling but had no idea what they were doing,” TBI agent Melanie Garner read from Bullock’s written statement. “I never have known him to carry a gun or hurt anyone. I didn’t see him or Jeremiah (Jeremy) with a gun when I dropped them off.”
“I heard Damein ask where the money was. The man said he didn’t have any money and that he had spent it all. Damein was upset,” Agent Parson read from Jeremy Hamer’s statement.
Hamer’s statement describes going into the house with his cousin looking for $50,000 and seeing two males on the floor and not expecting what came next.
“I heard two gunshots, and Damein said, ‘come on, come on,'” TBI Agent Sullivan read.
Bullock’s lawyers asked for her bond to be reduced, but the judge denied the request.
The case now will be handed over to a grand jury.
