Local church hosts ‘Miracle on Main Street’ Christmas show
BELLS, Tenn — One local church gets into the holiday spirit with a creative Christmas performance.
Members of Holly Grove Baptist Church filled the pews as the creative ministry team explained the true meaning of Christmas through a puppet performance titled “Miracle on Main Street.”
“Puppets are great because you can get up there and act out and people can’t see you,” creative director Debbie Jones said.
Jones said the idea behind the performance came from real life experiences.
“The most important thing to remember is there wouldn’t be a Christmas without Christ,” she said.
The story was centered around kids wanting to host a Christmas pageant in their town square, but everyone around them thinks there are more important things to be done.
“Christmas is about Jesus,” Jones said. “It’s not about the lights and the shopping and everything else, so the kids were there to remind the adults and everybody else about that.”
Afterwards, the puppeteers took center stage and were greeted with a round of applause from church members.
Organizers said they hope to continue using creative performance to spread positive messages for years to come.
