SAVANNAH, Tenn. — A local company made a large contribution to the Toys for Tots organization just in time for Christmas.

“We felt like Toys for Tots with the Christmas season was the right charity,” Executive Vice President of Customer Experience Jason Burdette said.

The funds came from a 5K run American Bath Group hosted earlier in the year. Throughout next year, ABG representatives said they plan to make monthly donations to five charities.

“Wounded Warrior program, we’re going to give to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Shriners Hospital, Toys for Tots and the World Wildlife Foundation,” Burdette said.

The company plans to donate a total of $1 million to split between those charities throughout 2017, but officials said that is only the beginning.

“Also allocating money to provide support to any one of our 14 manufacturing facilities,” Burdette said.

Coordinator of Toys for Tots David Bailey said he’s looking forward to shopping for the kids.

“It makes it worthwhile when you get a parent that cries and says if it hadn’t been for you that my child wouldn’t have had a Christmas,” Bailey said.

American Bath Group said they hope to improve the lives of people in any possible way through their foundation.
