Lightning strike probable cause of Hardin County fire

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — Firefighters in Hardin County say they have “been busy” after working multiple fires within 24 hours.

Around 3:32 p.m. Tuesday, the Hardin County Fire Department responded to a small shed and camper fire in the 4000 block of Glendale Road.

The department says the fire occurred during a severe thunderstorm, and based on witness reports, the cause is expected to be due to a lightning strike.

Also, the department shared that around 7 Wednesday morning, they responded to a mobile home fire at 1030 Old Union Road.

They say the home was abandoned and the cause remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported in either of the incidents.
