Memorial wall to honor law enforcement’s sacrifice comes to Selmer

SELMER, Tenn. — A memorial is being placed to honor the lives of officers who served our state and local communities.

Tennessee Law Enforcement’s Memorial Wall Groundbreaking is being held tomorrow, May 18, at 2 p.m.

The memorial will be placed at the Robert K. Lee Justice Center in Selmer.

The memorial is being spearheaded by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation Incorporated.

The wall will be 4-and-a-half feet tall and 40 feet long.

It will list the officer’s name, rank, agency, and date of sacrifice.

“We’re excited to give the family members of all 742 people who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for our citizens of the state of Tennessee a place where they can come where their loved one will be honored, where they can show respect,” said Guy Buck, Sheriff for McNairy County.

Every year, the foundation will continue to add the names of officers who unfortunately lose their life in the life of duty here in Tennessee.
