Savannah to host ‘Salute to the 40s’ event

SAVANNAH, Tenn. — Step back in time for a nostalgic journey through the 1940’s.

A ‘Salute to the 40s’ event is being held tomorrow, May 18, in downtown Savannah with a World War 2 experience.

Transporting event goers through the era of swing music, classic cars, and vintage fashion, while also honoring the many heroes who lived and served in those trying times.

There will be camps set up where people will see displays of weapons, tents, period vehicles and more.

Dozens of re-enactors will also be participating in the event.

Saturday morning, May 18, festivities will start at 9 a.m. with opening ceremonies, and the singing of the national anthem.

The first battle will take place at 10 in the morning, the second one will be at 3 p.m.
