NAACP to host 61st annual Freedom Fund Banquet
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local organization announces their biggest fundraising event.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s Jackson-Madison County Branch will have their 61st banquet on Sunday, May 26.
The event will start at 5 p.m.
This is one of the biggest fundraising events that the organization has.
All proceeds will go towards events and needs that they have throughout this year.
Current president, Harrell Carter, shares that education, the youth, voting, and many more causes are supported from donations.
“The community is key in order to go beyond where we are now. We need everybody participation and to the extent that you can. If you can’t come to the banquet then donate, if you see something that you can do to alert us we’ll try our best,” said Carter.
Tickets can be bought online, on their Facebook page, and through a current NAACP member.
