James Harold “Jim” Cox

James Harold “Jim” Cox, 88, of the Harris Station community passed away 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at The Waters of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Ron Costello will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Michael Cox, Daniel Hayes, Wade Maddox, Chris Veatch, Cody Veatch and Brad Smith.

Jim was born June 29, 1935, in Union City, son of the late George Winston Cox and Norma (Smith) Cox. He married Minnie Lee (Hopper) Cox December 26, 1953. Jim had been employed as a machinist at H & O Tool & Die and was a member of Harris Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Minnie Cox of the Harris Station community; his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ricky Davis of Union City; his son, Steve Cox of Union City; six grandchildren, Heather Hayes, Lindsay Maddox, Michael Cox, Stephanie Veatch and Dana Davis all of Union City and Becky Hudson of Clinton, Kentucky; eleven great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Carol Cox; one granddaughter, Missy Davis; his sister, Sylvia Allen; and his brother, Kenneth Cox.
