UCEA works diligently to restore power to local residents
UNION CITY, Tenn. — The recent storms caused damage and power outages in Union City, and crews have been hard at work getting it restored.
According to the Union City Energy Authority, around 8 a.m. yesterday, May 26, they had 4,600 customers without power.
As of earlier this evening, May 27, they got that number down to just 27.
CEO for Union City Energy Authority, Kyle Ross says the crews have been working hard and they appreciate the patience from their customers.
Ross says they had about 10 circuits out on their system, and after getting tree limbs off lines, they were able to restore the majority of power.
They also have a message for residents as they work to pick up the pieces.
“You know safety is our number one concern. So when we have customers that are, you know– they walk outside and they see some lines down. Please call and reach out to us because safety is the first things on our checklist,” said Ross.
The Union City Energy Authority has a 24/7 line. You can call them at 731-885-9212.
