Jackson man with attempted murder charges released after bond lowered

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man appears in court on attempted murder charges following a shooting earlier this month.

20-year-old Akyran Treyshawn Trull appeared in Jackson City Court Wednesday morning.

According to court records, Trull is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

A warrant states that around 3:16 p.m. on May 15, 2024, Jackson Police officers responded to the 500 block of Old Humboldt Road in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, the warrant states officers made contact with a man who advised that he had been shot at while walking into his garage. The man stated his girlfriend was also inside the home at the time of the shooting.

During the investigation, the warrant states the victim advised the shots were fired from a gray-colored pickup truck.

According to the warrant, the victim told police that just prior to the shooting, he saw Trull — who he advised he has known for several years — at the E Smoke store, located at 3189 North Highland Avenue, driving a gray-colored pickup truck.

According to the warrant, surveillance video from the victim’s home shows shots coming from the passenger side of a gray-colored pickup truck.

The warrant states the victim positively identified a known photograph of Trull.

Records available online indicate Trull was arrested in Jackson on May 16, and later transferred to the Chester County jail.

Wednesday, Judge Blake Anderson granted a motion to reset Trull’s bond from $500,000 to $100,000.

Records available online show that Trull has since been released from custody on bond.

The victim was not present in Jackson City Court, and a hearing date was reset to allow for the victim to be subpoenaed.
