One local church celebrates 180 years of worship
JACKSON, Tenn.—One local church celebrates a major milestone.
Liberty Grove Baptist Church located at 1071 Harts Bridge Road in Jackson held a unique service this morning to acknowledge 180 years.
The service began at 10 this morning and the theme for the service was “Carrying the Gospel Forward.”
Brother Larry Kirk delivered a special message to the congregation for the service.
There was also a display of memorabilia outlining the history of the church available to view.
After the service, members and guests enjoyed a fellowship meal.
“We’ve seen a lot of changing in this church over the years. Pastors come and go just like any other church. We’ve seen growth, we’ve been down, we’ve been up but we’re spreading the word of God over these last 180 years,” said Bob Brown, Deacon at Liberty Grove Baptist Church.
Liberty Grove Baptist Church is one of the oldest churches in Madison County and was established in 1844.
