DAR prepares to host Field of Flags event in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — A sea of red, white and blue to remember those who served.
The Jackson-Madison chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are preparing for their upcoming “Field of Flags” event.
The Field of Flags began in 2006 and honors patriots from the American Revolution who gave military service, civil service or patriotic service.
The dedication ceremony will be at Liberty Park on Saturday, June 15, starting at 11:00 a.m.
The flags will be put out earlier on June 8.
“There are 13 star flags that honor the patriots. Beneath each flag is a marker that has the name of the patriot and the colony,” said Gwen McReynolds, Chair Woman for the Jackson-Madison chapter.
There are two new features this year recognizing Bernardo De Galvez’ and Marquis De Lafayette.
