Madison County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Suspect in Recent Homicide Incident

On June 5th, 2024, at approximately 9:41 PM, Madison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the area of Upper Browns Church Road, located in east Madison County, regarding a  shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found a black male victim outside the residence being treated by  emergency medical personnel for a gunshot wound.

The victim, 21-year-old Forest Johnson III, later succumbed to his injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Division of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office processed the scene and conducted an investigation into the shooting. Through their investigation, they identified  Quinterious Long, a 19-year-old black male resident of Jackson, Tennessee, as the shooter in this  incident.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of Quinterious Long for reckless homicide. The Sheriff’s Office is actively pursuing all leads on Long’s whereabouts.
